Ok, so using the key you want to match, unlock with the blade and don't try the buttons. Then do the key code reset, ignition on, hold the lock button for a full ten seconds and the BSI will beep to acknowledge. After that, immediately turn off, close door and press lock. Follow this exactly and it will work.
Looks like the Xantia always has central locking, but not sure about remote control. As for the boot, the central locking can lock it, but opening the boot with the key won’t ‘centrally unlock’ the doors.
